How do I make an appointment?
Math Services provides walk-in tutoring. That means that whenever you walk in, we try to tutor you (check our homepage for hours of operation). There is no need for an appointment. We recommend you do your homework in Math Services so that there will be a tutor available should you need help.
I need one-on-one tutoring. How can I get it?
Math Services does not provide one-on-one tutoring; we are here to serve as many students as wish to come in. If you wish to hire a private tutor, you might try posting a notice at Bridgewater's Student Employment Services.
Can you help me with this statistics question?
There are usually one or two tutors who know basic statistics, but they may not know the advanced statistics used in a psychology research course.
For students in PSYC 201 Statistics and PSYC 320 Research Methods, there is a website available on Blackboard, VC 208-001 Statistics and Research Tutor that includes a number of resources for students looking for help with these classes.
There is also one-on-one and group tutoring available for these courses in the AAC; you can connect with these tutors through Tutoring Central.
Can you help me with Quantitative Methods (MATH 318) problems?
Some semesters we are lucky enough to have a tutor experienced in this course. Often we are not. Check the list of tutors to see what the answer is this semester.
I'm good at math; can I get a job as a tutor?
You probably can! You'll need a Social Security card and the name of a faculty member who can recommend you. Get these, then fill out our application form and turn it in to the Director of Mathematics Services or the head tutor. You should hear back from us within a week.
